I love cooking and trying new recipes but I am also a busy mom to an active toddler, so I don’t have tons of time to spend in the kitchen. My philosophy around cooking is that healthy and delicious meals don’t have to be fancy or take a lot of time. If you start with fresh, good quality ingredients, the flavours will speak for themselves.
In my professional life, I have worked in the area of mental health and addictions since 2012. I have had the opportunity to see the powerful impact that nutrition has on mental health and recovery from mental illness. I hope to use this website and blog to share easy recipes and nutrition and lifestyle information to help you improve your overall mental health and well-being.
I also believe that all foods fit! Food shouldn’t be associated with feelings of guilt. Feeling bad about something we eat is not going to help anyone’s mental health and well-being. Food is a way of connecting with others and is used to celebrate some of life’s greatest occasions. We should never deprive ourselves of food we enjoy.
